Gemma cherish Winky D
Zimbabwean soul singer Gemma Griffiths has expressed her tremendous love for Zimbabwean artiste.
In a statement, Gemma said she love Winky D. Gemma said after working with Winky on the “mugarden” song it was a great honor for her. Griffiths also said she loves Jah Prayzah, Nutty O, Enzo ishall, Tammy Moyo, Ammara and Chengeto Brown.
The icon opened up on her private life and plans in her musical career. Gemma also said music is everything to her and she wants to make it and travel to see the world. Gemma added that she grew up in a musical household of a piano teacher, choir and pianists so music is in the blood.
“I grew up listening to Tuku, to Andy Brown, but also a lot of Nina Simone and Aretha Franklin. There was a bit of Dolly Parton in there too. Now I draw upon all those influences and make a sound that sits with me.”
Gemma said they are such incredible talents in Zimbabwe. She said she admires Winky D and Jah Prayzah because they get booked to play at international shows. Griffiths also said she wants to do something to put Zimbabwe in the spotlight. The singer also said she wants to collaborate with British-Zimbabwean sister Shingai and Enzo ishall too.
However, Gemma said there is so much music coming in 2020.
