Success is not just money in the bank but a satisfied heart and peace of mind. Money cannot buy peace of mind, It cannot heal ruptured relationships or build meaning into a life that has none.

Money is good all the time. It would be better to say that the root of all evil is not money itself. But people’s desire for money to enhance their status and how they indulge themselves in evil deeds. Either the indulgence to increase one’s status or jealousy over losing in the status game to others.

Most people hold the erroneous belief that they are unable to live without money. Thereby, conditioning themselves from early childhood to earn wealth by any possible means. This conning into the love of money has resulted in various forms of evil such as stealing, kidnapping, and illegal use of drugs. In due course, this has destroyed many lives and families.

Now, those who initiate money trough evil deeds are not always happy, as they say, “Money can’t buy happiness. They can never get enough of everything. They always seem to desire more innovative and more reliable products which they think will ultimately make them happy. 

What does the Bible say about money?

The Bible acknowledges that money, when used wisely, can be useful, even serving as protection. It says, “The love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. For which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows” (I Timothy 6:10). The use of money can be very worthwhile.

Now the question is, how are they using their money?  In Africa, rich people and leaders are shinning on social media showing off their money and lifestyles. One of the Zimbabwean flamboyant Prophet, Passion Java has sparked controversy as he appeared in a live video wearing a homemade scarf made of real United States Dollar notes.

The Prophet has been glintly showing off his wealthy. This shows that they are not using their money for God’s Glory but for it is being used only for pleasure.

Why do Africans associate money with juju?

Meanwhile, the use of black magic or juju for money in Africa has been existing from a long time ago and it still exists today. Meanwhile, For the love of money, in Nigeria, it is believed that some wicked men sacrificed their families out of desperation for money.

The history of juju in Nigeria comes from the traditional religion known as voodoo. The practice is believed to involve the sacrifice of blood to make money. Downheartedly, money has become so important that men will lie, cheat, bribe, defame, and kill to get it. Hence the love of money has become the ultimate idolatry. They can use their money to control and dominate other people with tremendous power.
