It comes off as no surprise that the church leader and founder of PHD (Prophetic Healing and Deliverance) Ministries, Walter Magaya has under the insistance of the ZADHR ( Zimbabwe Association of Doctors for Human Rights) been demanded to retract his alleged claims that he has the cure to the infamous virus HIV and AIDS. The ZAHDR has actually taken thorough legal action and threatens to thwart these claims down by threatening the founder of this prominent church by filing a lawsuit against his name. Reason for such action stands only to be because this virus having been discovered in 1959 by a man living in what is now called Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo simply has no cure. And after 57 years finding the cure to the adamant virus is simply a rearranging of the deck chairs on the Titanic, a waste of time. However at the press conference with the Honorable Minister of Health and Child Care Obadiah Moyo, Walter is reportedly said to have ‘rushed’ into the announcement. ‘I took heed of what the government and relevant bodies have asked me to do to retract my earlier claim , which I am now doing.’ It definitely is a great relief to the majority of the Zimbabwean doctors as they would’ve suffered extremely large casualties at the hands of one man. Magaya managed to stir havoc across Western borders and the WHO( World Health Organisation ) representative Alex Gasarira has taken cognisance that there still is no known cure for the virus and that patients should continue on the antiretroviral treatment as they always have. He says, “ Any researchers involved in developing possible new treatment for any ailments including HIV and AIDS are reminded to subject themselves to the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MOHCC) national clinical processes and procedures”.
