Missy Elliott returns with Iconology
It has been 14 years since Missy Elliott released an album.
The legendary rapper, producer, and songwriter make her long-awaited return with Iconology, a collection of new tracks.
The EP, which follows 2005’s “The cookbook” includes collaborations with Pharrell, Tweet, and Timbaland.
The news comes ahead of Monday’s MTV VMAs, where the hip-hop icon will be honored with the Video Vanguard Award. Earlier this year Missy entered the songwriters Hall of Fame.
While Missy hadn’t released an album since 2005 before Iconology, she has appeared on several songs in the meantime, including Little Mix’s ‘How ya Doing’ in 2012, Ariana Grande tune Borderline last year, and she collaborated with Lizzo on Tempo earlier this year.
