Nakamba’s Aston Villa reaches Carabao Cup Semi-Final
Aston Villa beat Liverpool 5-0 in a Carabao Cup quarter-final played at Villa Park yesterday. The Blue and Claret army got goals from Conor Hourihane 14′, Morgan Boyes 17′, Jonathan Kodjia 37′, 45.′ And late substitute Wesley Moraes 90+2′.
Liverpool was not the usual Liverpool because they had no head coach. The manager Jurgen Klopp flew to Qatar with the Red’s first team to compete in the Club World Cup. Their first game against the Mexican side Monterrey. Also, Jurgen Klopp left Neil Critchley in charge of the game.
Liverpool began brightly- and indeed enjoyed significant spells of possession throughout the match – but conceded two freak goals in the space of three first-half minutes to allow the hosts to settle.
However, Dean Smith reserved some regular players. These include McGinn, Jack Grealish, El Ghazi, Heaton, Guilbert. Also, Zimbabwean defensive midfielder, Marvelous Nakamba.
