Security cameras in the CBD!!
The Zimbabwe City Council will soon install security cameras in the CBD.
The Council will install monitoring cameras and enforcement cameras at all intersections and all parking lots in CBD.
We live in a constant threat of attacks from robbers and other thieves who snatch people’s cellphones and their goods. One of the most outstanding benefits of placing CCTV in public places is to enhance public safety. Besides public safety, cameras will also reduce the crime rate by providing evidence and gather clues. Also, cameras bring convenience to our lives.
However, the installation of cameras in the CBD is astounding. With the unendurable situation in public hospitals, patients are dying from curable diseases. Our clinics do not even have pain killers like paracetamol. Patients are complaining that they do not have enough money to buy drugs in pharmacies. It would be way more beneficial if they initially address the lack of crucial resources in public health institutions.
Meanwhile, Zimbabwe’s capital city, Harare has been plunged into a crisis by an acute shortage of potable water. Meanwhile, Zimbabwe’s capital city, Harare has been plunged into a crisis by an acute shortage of potable water. The City Council failed to obtain water chemicals due to the deficiency in foreign currency.
In addition, there are extreme forms of corruption affecting health, education and local government in Zimbabwe. These are bribery, nepotism, embezzlement, theft, and mismanagement. Therefore, corruption will hinder them from arresting the criminals because of bribery.
For one to exist, he needs to be healthy. It is advisable for the Council to incipiently address the challenges affecting the public health sector and water crisis.
However, it is inferior for the Council to install security cameras in the CBD at this tough time.
