Zakaria anger with fake pledges
Sungura musician, Nicholas Zakaria expressed anger to local businessmen who publicly give fake pledges to musicians.
In a statement, Madzibaba Zakaria said some businessmen who are on record have given promises to musicians and those pledges have never been fulfilled.
Senior Lecturer said fake promises make planning difficult for the musicians, especially when the pledges have something to do with production.
He said, “It is disheartening to note that most of these businessmen will not be sincere. At the end of the day, it will be the musicians who suffer. The icon said fake sponsors play goodwill role while riding on the name of an artist.
Furthermore, Madzibaba said, “A businessman from Harare promised to fund the production of my album. Which was scheduled for release last year.”
However, he said,the man never fulfilled the promise. He also added that planning made even more difficult, forcing him to arrange everything on the calendar.
Zakaria has scheduled to have produced 27th album last year. But forced to put the project on hold because of financial challenges. He expressed his anger with fake pledges.

He credited as being the man behind the nurturing of musicians such as Alick Macheso and System Tazvida.
