Zimuto to grace Olinda Chapel’s High Tea
Controversial singer and artist Vimbai Zimuto is to grace Olinda Chapel’s High Tea which will be held on October 5 this year.
The annual Olinda Chapel high tea will be given a new twist this year as it features Vimbai Zimuto. The theme for this year is “African royalty”. Olinda highlighted that the theme in line with how women especially those in the diaspora raise their children to run their businesses and how they manage their marriages.
Aunty Jenny and Uncle Ged will host the event. It will take place in Birmingham. Olinda had previously advertised for male models to apply for positions of serving guests on the day. They will be dressed in African inspired traditional clothes (nhembe).
The high tea will take place on 5 October 2019 and promises to live up to the billing. The menu will incorporate traditional African dishes. She also staged her own art exhibition celebrating African beauty and uniqueness.
However, there have been a few negative responses. One fan lambasted Olinda for trying to make Tytan jealous by hiring models to serve people on the day. Others said that they disliked the idea of Vimbai Zimuto performing on the day.
Zimuto said she feels honored to be part of the event for the second time since last year.
“It’s an honor to be gracing this event since I attended the Harare version mid last year.
Vimbai said business is what connects her with Olinda besides their quest to represent Zimbabwean women on the world map.
“Olinda is a great organizer so I am really looking forward to it. This event will give more of my fans and all that will attend to have a more understanding of what I actually do,” she said.
“Most people just see nude art but I am a whole lot more than that and this event is the perfect canvas and a whole lot more is to come,” she said.
